Armored Fiber Across the Complete AV Environment

All vertical markets

Iron Photon armored fiber connects the complete Professional AV environment—from data rooms and AV racks to conference rooms, cameras, displays, DAS equipment, stadiums and venue systems. Bulk armored backbones, equipment patching, active optical HDMI, tactical fiber and qualifying power-over-fiber solutions can be coordinated around the building and its technology.

01

Armored Fiber Across the Complete AV Environment

Professional AV systems connect data rooms, telecommunications spaces, AV racks, conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, command centers, cameras, displays, digital signage, stadiums and distributed wireless systems. The network must move video, audio, control and data reliably across the complete facility.

Iron Photon provides a coordinated armored fiber platform from the building backbone through equipment-room patching and onward to selected AV endpoints. Compact stainless-steel armor adds cable-level protection while preserving valuable tray, conduit and rack capacity.

02

From Data Room to Room System and Venue Endpoint

A Professional AV project rarely ends at one display. Fiber may begin in the data room, pass through intermediate telecommunications and AV spaces, terminate in equipment racks and continue through smaller patch connections to encoders, decoders, processors, cameras, displays, DAS equipment and venue systems.

The image models this connected environment: a protected backbone enters the AV and data room, armored patch cords connect the equipment, and the facility extends into conference and stadium spaces with displays, cameras and wireless touchpoints.

06

Conference Rooms Collaboration and Installed AV

Conference and collaboration spaces may combine cameras, microphones, speakers, displays, control processors, room schedulers and AV-over-IP endpoints. Fiber can connect these spaces to centralized AV and network resources while supporting high bandwidth. Fiber supports electrical isolation of the optical signal path; grounding and bonding requirements for the metallic armor must be evaluated separately.

Armored backbone and equipment patching can add protection in floor boxes, ceilings, equipment racks and other spaces exposed to installation activity or future changes.

07

Stadium Arena and Large Venue AV

Large venues require connectivity among control rooms, display systems, production positions, suites, concourses, scoreboards, ribbon boards, audio systems, cameras, network rooms and distributed wireless equipment.

Iron Photon can coordinate permanent armored backbones, high-density fiber, tactical event connections, armored patch cords and active optical HDMI around the venue architecture and operating workflow.

08

AV Over IP and Data Room Integration

AV-over-IP depends on the network architecture supporting the encoders, decoders, switches, media systems and control platforms. Iron Photon armored fiber can connect core and edge equipment across data rooms, AV rooms and venue zones.

Data rate, topology, latency, multicast design, redundancy, active optics, fiber type, loss budget and equipment compatibility remain part of the qualified network and AV design.

09

DAS and Wireless System Touchpoints

Professional AV facilities often coexist with commercial cellular or public-safety DAS infrastructure. Iron Photon armored fiber can support qualifying links among DAS headend equipment, distribution points and remote units while sharing a coordinated pathway strategy with AV and network systems.

DAS coverage, active equipment, power, monitoring, survivability, code compliance and authority acceptance remain part of the approved DAS design. Shared pathways and spaces must be coordinated so one system does not compromise another.

10

Cameras and Power Over Fiber

Selected PTZ cameras, monitoring sensors and low-power AV endpoints may benefit from power over fiber, which transmits optical energy and converts it to electrical power at the remote end. It can reduce dependence on local outlets for qualifying devices and avoids adding copper conductors to the optical power channel.

The design requires a transmitter, compatible fiber link, photovoltaic converter, load management, power margin and laser-safety controls. Output, distance, efficiency, temperature, failure behavior and equipment compatibility must be validated. Metallic armor grounding, bonding and isolation must be evaluated separately for the complete installation.

11

Armored Active Optical HDMI

Armored active optical HDMI can support qualifying connections among media processors, cameras, switchers, projectors, LED processors and displays. The optical construction can provide longer reach and a smaller cable profile than many passive copper assemblies while stainless-steel armor adds physical protection.

Directionality, HDMI version, bandwidth, supported video and audio features, power, length, connector design and source-display compatibility must correspond to the exact assembly.

12

Integrator and Facility Advantage

  • One coordinated armored platform from backbone through equipment patching
  • Better use of congested pathways and rack-entry space
  • Added protection during installation and future changes
  • Factory termination that can reduce field labor
  • OS2 and multimode options matched to reach and equipment
  • Support for AV, data-room, camera, DAS and venue touchpoints
  • Power-over-fiber engineering for qualifying low-power endpoints
  • Custom breakouts, labeling, polarity and documentation
  • Scalable infrastructure supporting future AV expansion
13

Engineered Around the Complete AV System

Iron Photon evaluates the data rate, transmission distance, room and venue architecture, fiber count, AV-over-IP design, data rooms, DAS interfaces, cameras, displays, power requirements, pathways, environmental conditions, connectors, fire ratings, testing and documentation before recommending a configuration.

Published performance, HDMI, power-over-fiber, DAS, fire-rating, environmental and compliance claims must correspond to the exact approved part number, complete system design and supporting documentation.
