CassetteManagementSystems
High-Density Fiber Distribution Protected by Stainless Steel
Iron Photon cassette management systems organize high-density fiber connections around armored MPO-to-MPO trunk assemblies and modular cassette-based distribution. The platform helps move multiple fibers efficiently from backbone pathways into racks, cabinets, panels and equipment spaces while protecting the optical route with compact stainless-steel spiral armor.
Long tactical-reel assemblies support protected deployment between network locations, while compact plenum assemblies provide short MPO interconnections within approved indoor spaces. Final cassette type, polarity, connector gender, fiber mapping and enclosure compatibility must be engineered for the selected system.

High-Density Fiber Distribution Protected by Stainless Steel
Cassette-based fiber management allows multiple optical fibers to be carried through an MPO trunk and distributed into structured connection points near network equipment. This approach can simplify backbone deployment, improve organization and reduce the number of individual cables routed through crowded pathways.
Iron Photon adds stainless-steel spiral armor to the trunk assemblies to help protect the fiber from crushing, abrasion, pulling and handling. The compact armored construction is designed to preserve pathway capacity while supporting high-density singlemode connectivity.
Built Around MPO Trunks and Modular Cassettes
The system is designed around 12-fiber OS2 singlemode MPO-to-MPO assemblies that connect compatible cassette, panel or enclosure interfaces. Longer trunk assemblies can be supplied on tactical reels for organized transport and deployment. Short plenum assemblies support equipment-room and rack-level interconnections where the selected rating is appropriate.
System performance depends on the complete optical channel. MPO connector type, gender, key orientation, polarity method, pinning, cassette mapping, insertion-loss budget and mating compatibility must be confirmed before ordering or installation.
Available Configurations
Current Iron Photon cassette-management assemblies include:
- 12-fiber OS2 singlemode construction
- MPO-to-MPO connectivity
- stainless-steel spiral armor beneath the outer jacket
- Loose-tube tactical trunk construction for extended routes

Data Center and Equipment-Room Applications
High-density network spaces require fiber pathways that are organized, scalable and easy to maintain. MPO trunk assemblies can consolidate multiple fibers into a compact backbone connection and deliver them to compatible cassettes, panels or enclosures near switches, servers and other optical equipment.
Iron Photon armored MPO assemblies add protection around the cable pathway while maintaining a compact construction. The tactical-reel trunk supports longer protected routes, and the short plenum assembly supports controlled interconnections within qualifying indoor spaces.
Installer Advantage
Factory-terminated MPO assemblies can reduce field connectorization and support repeatable cassette-based installations. Pulling eyes help protect the terminated ends during placement, while tactical-reel packaging keeps longer trunks organized before, during and after deployment.
Installers benefit from:
- Preterminated 12-fiber MPO-to-MPO connectivity
- Fewer individual cables routed through backbone pathways
- Compact armored construction for limited conduit and tray space
- Added cable protection during pulling, placement and handling
- Two reusable pulling eyes on the tactical assembly
- Tactical reel for controlled payout, retrieval and storage
- Short plenum assembly for compatible rack and equipment-room connections
- System planning around confirmed polarity and cassette mapping
End-User Advantage
A well-planned cassette-management system creates an organized optical pathway from the backbone to network equipment. Iron Photon combines high-density MPO connectivity with armored cable protection to help support reliable operation in critical network environments.
End users benefit from:
- Organized high-density fiber distribution
- Scalable 12-fiber backbone connectivity
- Added protection for critical optical pathways
- Reduced exposure to handling and installation damage
- Simplified moves, additions and changes when used with compatible cassettes
- Factory-terminated connectivity for repeatable deployment
- Portable tactical configuration for temporary or changing networks
- A coordinated platform for backbone and equipment-room interconnections
