Power+FiberArmoredBulkCable
One Protected Pathway for Power and Optical Communications
Iron Photon Power + Fiber Armored Bulk Cable combines OS2 singlemode fiber and copper conductors within one rugged outdoor cable for applications requiring both optical communications and project-engineered low-voltage power.
The composite construction can reduce separate cable runs, conduit use, and installation labor where the conductor size, operating voltage, current draw, distance, and allowable voltage drop are suitable for the connected device.
The current launch configuration combines two OS2 G.657.A2 bend-insensitive fibers with two 18 AWG copper conductors under one black TPE outer jacket. Stainless-steel spiral armor protects the fiber subunit, and water-blocking construction supports demanding outdoor pathways, subject to the selected product listing, applicable code and project requirements.
Explore Power + Fiber Cable
One Protected Pathway for Power and Optical Communications
Many outdoor and edge-device installations require fiber for data and copper conductors for power. Installing those services separately can increase cable pulls, pathway congestion, material handling and project time.
Iron Photon places both services within one compact composite cable. The integrated design simplifies routing and creates a coordinated physical pathway for cameras, wireless access points, access-control systems, remote sensors and other connected devices.
Product Configuration
The initial Power + Fiber product family includes:
- Available from 2 to 12 strands of OS2 G.657.A2 bend-insensitive Singlemode fibers
- Available from 12 to 24 AWG copper conductors
- 900 micrometer tight-buffered fiber construction
- Stainless-steel spiral armor around the fiber subunit
- Water-blocking construction
- Black TPE outdoor jacket
- Available from 250, 500 and 1,000-foot reels
Outdoor/OSP use, wet-location suitability, direct-burial use, fire rating and compliance must be confirmed for the selected construction before installation.

- Outdoor network extensions with limited pathway space
Security and Surveillance Applications
Security systems frequently place cameras, access-control devices and sensors at gates, parking areas, perimeter locations and other remote points. These devices need reliable communications and properly engineered power delivery across the complete cable route.
Iron Photon Power + Fiber Armored Bulk Cable combines both connections in one protected cable, helping contractors simplify the pathway from the network location to the field device. Final conductor distance, operating voltage, device current and allowable voltage drop must be verified for each project.
Installer Advantage
The composite design helps installers reduce separate cable pulls, simplify reel handling and use available pathway space more efficiently. Tight-buffered fiber supports field termination practices, while the armored fiber subunit provides an additional layer of physical protection.
Installers benefit from:
- One coordinated pull for power and optical communications
- Fewer individual cables and reels to manage
- Reduced conduit fill and cable congestion
- Standard reel lengths for common project routes
- Custom bulk lengths that can reduce field waste
- A compact construction for crowded or difficult pathways
End-User Advantage
A single composite cable creates a cleaner infrastructure for connected edge devices while supporting long-distance optical transmission and project-engineered low-voltage power. The result is a coordinated cable system that can be easier to identify, document and maintain.
End users benefit from:
- A unified pathway for device communications and power
- Reliable OS2 singlemode optical connectivity
- Added physical protection for the fiber connection
- More efficient use of existing conduit and pathways
- Fewer separate cable systems to document and maintain
- Custom configurations developed around the application
Engineered Around Your Project
Every Power + Fiber installation has different electrical, optical and environmental requirements. Provide the device type, operating voltage, current draw, one-way distance, allowable voltage drop, fiber termination, pathway, environmental exposure, required listing and reel length.
Iron Photon will help determine what fiber and AWG configuration is appropriate and confirm the required cable construction for the application.
