High Fiber Density Protected by Stainless Steel
Iron Photon Ribbon Fiber Bulk combines high-count rollable-ribbon architecture with compact stainless steel spiral armor. The integrated construction adds physical protection around the optical core while maintaining the flexibility and cable diameter required for congested conduits, cable trays, equipment pathways and demanding indoor or outdoor routes.
Twelve-fiber ribbon groups can be organized into a splice-ready format for compatible mass-fusion equipment and separated for individual fiber access when the termination method requires it. Available constructions range from 12 through 288 fibers and can be configured with singlemode or multimode optical fiber, project-specific jackets and qualifying environmental ratings.
Built for Fiber Dense Networks
As networks expand, pathway capacity and installation time become as important as total fiber count. Rollable-ribbon architecture organizes high fiber counts into repeatable 12-fiber groups while allowing the fibers to conform within a compact cable core. The stainless steel spiral armor helps protect that core during pulling, placement and long-term service.
Iron Photon Ribbon Fiber Bulk is designed for applications that require high capacity, efficient splicing, compact routing and an added level of physical protection within one coordinated cable platform.
Ribbon Fiber Options
Iron Photon Ribbon Fiber Bulk can be configured around the fiber type, fiber count, pathway, jacket and splicing requirements of the project:

Final fiber type, fiber count, ribbon architecture, cable diameter, jacket material, fire rating, environmental suitability, installation method, reel length and termination method must be confirmed for the selected product.
OS2 Singlemode Ribbon Fiber
OS2 singlemode rollable-ribbon fiber supports long-distance and high-bandwidth optical links when paired with compatible active equipment. It is suited for data-center interconnects, broadband backbone and middle-mile networks, central offices, campus backbones, transportation systems and other applications requiring reach, capacity and scalable fiber counts.
The appropriate G.652 or G.657 fiber must be selected according to the pathway, bend requirements, splicing method, equipment interface and optical loss budget of the complete link.
Multimode Ribbon Fiber
OM3, OM4 and OM5 rollable-ribbon options can support high-speed optical connections across the shorter distances commonly found within data centers, enterprise facilities, equipment rooms and campus networks. The required data rate, transmission distance, wavelength, connector loss budget and active optical equipment must be confirmed before the fiber type is selected.
Rollable Ribbon Architecture
Rollable ribbon allows the fibers to align into organized 12-fiber groups for compatible ribbon splicing while remaining flexible within the cable core. This construction can provide high fiber density without relying on rigid flat ribbons throughout the entire cable, helping the fibers conform to a compact circular profile.
Mass Fusion Splicing
When used with compatible preparation tools, holders and mass-fusion equipment, 12-fiber ribbon groups can allow multiple fibers to be spliced in one operation. This can reduce repetitive single-fiber preparation and splicing on high-count projects while supporting consistent organization inside splice trays and enclosures.
Mass-fusion compatibility, ribbon preparation, fiber holders, cleaving equipment, splicer programs and splice-protection components must be confirmed for the selected cable and field process.

Data Center and AI Applications
Data centers require increasing fiber capacity among switches, servers, storage systems, distribution areas, meet-me rooms and interconnection points. Iron Photon Ribbon Fiber Bulk combines organized high-count ribbon architecture with compact stainless steel armor to help protect critical backbones while preserving pathway space.
Compatible mass-fusion splicing can help accelerate high-count installation, expansion and restoration work. The final construction must be matched to the data rate, optical equipment, route length, pathway, fire rating and facility requirements.
Broadband and Telecommunications Applications
Broadband and telecommunications networks use high-count fiber to connect central offices, headends, aggregation points, transport routes, access networks and distribution locations. Rollable-ribbon architecture can simplify high-count splicing and restoration, while compact spiral armor adds protection for qualifying indoor, outdoor and indoor or outdoor pathways.
Suitability for direct burial, installation without conduit, aerial placement or a specific outside-plant route must be confirmed against the exact product rating, pathway and applicable codes.
Installer Advantage
Iron Photon Ribbon Fiber Bulk helps installers manage high fiber counts without giving up the physical protection of stainless steel spiral armor. Organized ribbon groups support compatible mass-fusion workflows, while the compact cable profile helps reduce pathway congestion.
Installers benefit from:
- Mass-fusion splicing support with compatible ribbon-splicing equipment
- Organized 12-fiber groups for identification and splice management
- Reduced repetitive single-fiber handling on high-count projects
- Compact cable diameters for improved conduit and tray utilization

End User Advantage
A high-count backbone must provide capacity today while remaining serviceable during future expansion, repair and restoration. Iron Photon combines organized rollable-ribbon architecture with stainless steel protection to create a scalable physical-layer platform for fiber-dense networks.
End users benefit from:
- Higher fiber capacity within limited pathway space
- Added protection for critical backbone infrastructure
- Organized fiber groups that support maintenance and restoration
- Singlemode and multimode options for different network architectures

Compact Armor for High Density Pathways
The stainless steel spiral armor is integrated around the protected cable core instead of relying solely on a larger external protective system. The separated coil construction allows the cable to remain flexible while adding physical protection for crowded conduits, cable trays, equipment pathways and splice environments.
Actual cable diameter, bend radius, pulling load and environmental rating depend on the fiber count, fiber type, ribbon design, jacket and selected construction.
Engineering Qualification
Cable construction, armor material, fiber type, fiber count, ribbon grouping, jacket material, flammability rating, environmental suitability, installation method, reel length and termination method must be confirmed for the selected product. Suitability for direct burial, installation without conduit or a specific building or outside-plant pathway must never be assumed from the product-family description alone.
